When we drive all the way across town to our city's best park, we make it worth it. We mean to stay 4 a while. We always time these trips after a meal and bring snacks and drinks for later. Lately, u'll find in our stash, the following: Quaker chewy granola bars, cheerios n milk cereal bars, large bottles of powerade, water, and maybe some gum.

You may want to consider dropping the cereal bars from your list of "go to" snacks. They are packed full of things that are seriously harmful to your health. Anytime you see the words "partially hydrogenated" on a label you should walk away from it as that's a sure sign that the item contains trans fats which are directly linked to heart disease and cancer. (There's even a recent study which shows a link between these fats and Alzheimer's disease)

Maybe switch them out for some fruit (most kids love berries and sliced apples) and some cheese and crackers.

I generally don't comment on what people feed their children, but with the exception of the water, you don't seem to have a single healthy snack packed in that bag and that worries me a bit.
