Last week when I asked all of you amazing ediTORIal readers if you have any questionor blog requests for me, I was overwhelmed by the responses! You guys have some great questions, and really interesting blog ideas (that I’ll be getting to in the coming weeks!).
The question that I decided to answer first came from ediTORIal reader Jordan Yaworski, who asked this:
“I would love to see you do a blog about A Day in the Life. What time does everyone wake up in your household? What's on the menu for breakfast? etc. That would be very neat!”
I love this question! I’d love to share a day in our lives with all of you. To be honest no two days are alike, which is chaotic but fun. So here is what a day might look like...
We are so lucky to have Patsy with us for now, so she gets up with baby Finn at approximately 5:30 or 6am. He has a morning bottle and then they both go back to bed for a few hours. Then, Hattie is usually the next to wake up. I hear her around 630am via the monitor, when she’s turning on her little Einstein crib aquarium that's attached to her crib. The music plays and she plays with her biddy (blankie) and a couple stuffed animals for a good 30-40 minutes. I usually get up during that time and brush my teeth, put in my contacts, brush my hair, and get dressed. When Hattie has had enough she will start to scream for us. I head to get her while Dean showers and gets Liam and Stella up for school.
Then I bring Hattie into the kitchen and she watches TV from her highchair and greets the kids as Liam and Stella stumble in. We get fresh warm eggs from our chicken coop (thanks girls!) and cook Stella and Hattie scrambled eggs. Then all 3 kids have either waffles, pancakes, French toast, or cereal. Dean and I have our coffee and get Liam and Stella dressed for school. After that Dean takes the kids to school and Hattie is ready to play.
Once the big kids are off to school, Finn wakes up and we all hang out in the playroom for a while. Then, our nanny Paola arrives. Hattie goes down for her morning nap around 930 or 10am. Dean goes to his office to work on his website /do interviews/take calls/work on recipes, etc... I go to my room and blog for ediTORIal, work on writing my new book, take calls, come up with DIY ideas, etc... Depending on the day we have various work/craft projects going on and meetings, etc...
Liam and Stella come home from school around 2pm. Hattie has her 2nd nap around 3pm. Yesterday at 3pm Stella had ballet/tap class and at 4pm Liam and Stella both had MMA class which they just started and love! Finn sleeps off and on and visits and plays with everyone throughout the day. He and Hattie love going in the double stroller and walking around our neighborhood. Mitzi our dog rides in the stroller with them.
Dinner prep begins around 5pm. The whole family eats together around 6pm. Yesterday it was Subway sandwiches, because the kids wanted to bring dinner home from Subway as a treat. Typically we make a chicken, steak, or meatball with some rice, potato, or pasta on the side. And, we never leave out a serving of veggies. Hattie worships her veggies! She always goes for them first. Then the kids watch a little TV while everyone does the bath circuit. It usually goes in the order from youngest to oldest.
Then it’s time for the kids to go to bed! Finn goes to bed first, usually around 630pm. Then Hattie goes down at 7pm. Liam and Stella usually wind up in our bed watching TV and pass out. Poor Dean usually ends up carrying them to their beds around 830 or 9pm. Then, Dean and I get some much needed cuddle and or TV adult time! He usually falls asleep before me and I'm usually up on email or Pinterest till midnight! Or I’m blogging, which is what I was doing last night when I wrote this (it was 920pm).
And there you go! That's a day in our lives!!
Do you have any other burning questions for me? If you do, leave them in the comments below! And also, let me know what a day in the life at YOUR house looks like.
Love,
T

So glad to see you back to your self. I don't know if I just haven't known you've been blogging or what. This was the first I've seen since Finn's been born. Love reading about your family. You're so down to earth and "normal".You are such a good hands mom, I love reading about what everyones up to . Keep letting us know how everyones doing and what's new in your life. What is your new book going to be about? You didn't say -
We have recently had a new addition to our household. My husband and I have a 2 month old son Jax, so we have had drastic changes in our schedules. Right now, I wake up at 0400 to feed Jax. I try to get up and do a little exercise while he naps and then get ready for work. We both leave the house at 0700 when I drop little man off at his grandparents. Then, I work from 0800 and try to get off work as early as possible (usually 1230ish). I pick up booger, and we eat a late lunch. While he is napping I try to clean, bake, or work on my projects. My man usually comes home around 1500 when we attempt to either swim, play tennis or box. Then, dinner, bath time at 1930, feeding, and bed time at 2000. I usually pass out shortly after my baby boy, which stinks because I miss my cuddling time. -
Hi Tori,
I have asked these question before but they have never been answered. What ever happend to the red haired friend on Tori and Deaan Love Inn. I think her name was suzzane. What has happened to your once pregnant assistant that worked at Inventori. What did she have-girl or boy? Is she working there still? I would also love to learn some business tips on starting a business. You have so many!! Mabe you could blog on sourcing merchandise, creating websites-colour schemes. I would love to know if you were terrified before starting a new venture or were you confident? I would also love some advice on bringing up children. I have a daughter who just turned three. What pearls of wisdom can you pass on i.e behaviour strategies, activities that occupy their time ect. Will Home Sweet Hollywood come out on DVD? Could we get a yay or nay about whether your show will return. Either way will you let us know.So many questions.....sorry!!!! XX -

You are such an inspiration. Miss your show so much! You want to know a day in our home?! I am a single mother with 7 children. I wake up around 6. Wake Abby,Brian, Lizzy & Emily up for school. Usually cereal, grits or pancakes. Emily leaves at 7:10. Abby on the bus at7:15. Leave at 7:25 to take Lizzy & Brian to school. Come home and the little ones Evan & Emmitt wake up. Feed them. Wake my oldest daughter Sydnie up at 8. She goes to Early College so her school starts later. Get her on the bus at 8:45. Then my cleaning and errand running begins. Then Emily gets home at 2:30. Get Abby off the bus at 3:20. Leave at 3:30 to pick up Brian and Lizzy. Come home do homework then start dinner. Sydnie gets home at 5 & we all eat dinner together. Then some TV, baths and bed time at 8 for the little ones. Long hectic days but wouldn't change a thing! -
Tori, I'm an avid t/d show fan!!! Love you guys! I'm thinking the east coast needs more TORI over here. Can we get an InvenTORI here? I'd love to help you!!! sublimephotoart@yahoo.com -
I love your show, I was hoping to see you guys continue making us laugh, cry and learn. I hope you decide to continue your show on oxygen. -
When will Tori and Dean be back on Oxygen????? I'm sure I am not the only one who misses your show. Please come back! -
Hey Tori, totally miss watching you and your family on your show. Hopefully we will see ya'll soon! My day is pretty hectic as well. A usual day in my life begins with getting up around 7:00 when my youngest Victoria starts to wake up. I get dressed and start the "morning routine" of getting my other 2 minions ready for school. After Diana and Julian are dressed, fed and delivered to school I return home with Victoria and clean house, work out etc. while she watches Disney channel and plays until nap time. After nap and lunch we get ready to get the other kids from school around 3:30. My oldest has physical therapy everyday after school (she has cerebral palsy) so I pick up from school, drop off at therapy and rush back home because Julian either has karate or faith class depending on the day of the week. I have to pick Diana up from therapy come home do dinner, baths and homework, get everyone ready for bed around 9:00 and get ready to do it all over again the next day! Whew! So, that's a peek into a day in my life. Thanks for sharing! -
Tori, Miss the show so much! You are such an inspirational person! You always strive to achieve each and every goal you set in life, no matter what the outcome... You always try and try again. You make it all seem fun(although I know its through hard work and determination) All the best to you and your wonderful family! You motivate me! :) -
T, thank you for sharing a day in your life. I absolutely love the McDermott's, miss your show, and I wish it would come back on! :)) -

Tori, first thank you for sharing everything you do with your fans! I miss your show so much (and hopefully it comes back on!) but it's nice that you keep your fans engaged on editorial. One thing I would like to know is....when the camera crew is in the house filming, does it change the daily routine at all? -
What's your beauty secrets? What are your favorite beauty products? Facials, make up and hair that type of thing. You always look so fresh and put together. -
I just loved reading about a day in your life. You are so organized. I just have 2 children and it is a challenge sometimes. I get my own fresh eggs every morning too. We have 8 chickens. How many do you have? And what other animals are on your "farm?" We also have 4 goats, 1 rooster and a big flop-earred rabbit! Love my animals.... -
Thanks so much for taking time and sharing things like this with us. A new book??? Hummmm..... Could a MoommyWood: Scene II, be in the making? You sound so busy girl. I don't see how you do it! -
Love to read all the stories, it's somewhat reassuring to know that all around the globe a lot of women are whirlwinding through their day the same way I do. We get up at the same time, do more or less the same things (schoolruns, working days, chores and play), have dinner around the same time and we are left with a smallish amount of we/me-time.
This post really is comfort-reading to me, superthanks @Jordan Yaworski for coming up with this question! -
Just want to know that what i read in the tabloids are lies i love you guys and think you two are wonderful! My husband drives truck and i hardly get to see him that is a life in my world! -
