I hope you all had a great 4th of July last week – all of us in the McDermott household certainly did! Here's how we spent Independence Day:
The day started out pretty gloomy with grey skies in Los Angeles, so we utilized our indoor time until the sun came out and crafted. Here's the American flag Stella made!
Meanwhile, Hattie played iPhone police and boss of the house:
Miss Hattie can't decide whether she wants to nibble on Dad's iPhone or brother Liam's nose with her three teeth! She's feeling pretty grown up!
Here are my boys!!
Holidays call for hair art! Braid time...
The girls in their bathing suits waiting patiently for the sun to shine so that they can grab some pool time:
My Independence Day babes!
My hubby returned from the market with some beautiful sunflowers for mama:
The clouds start to go away and Hattie is ready to party!
Liam is happy the sun finally came out and shows off his 4th of July ensemble!
Love this necklace! I think of Dean & me and it's a reminder that "I kissed a boy," and I liked it! I really liked it and can't wait to kiss my man for the rest of our lives!
Hattie's new thing: Nose, nose, nose...
Mama Bear lounging poolside:
Dean hit the grill and made delicious burgers aka Krabby Patties (Sponge Bob reference – whatever gets the kids to eat!):
Dogs and bacon! How can you go wrong?
Perfectly grilled flank steak by The Gourmet Dad!
Stella says bon appétit!
Who doesn't love a sleeping baby's head? Love her blonde cowlick!
Dean made delicious Dr. Pepper ice cream floats. It was a spontaneous pregnancy craving but turned out delicious! Root beer move on over ;)
Liam's was topped with his favorite monkey straw. After all, he is our MONKEY!
Liam ends our family poolside celebration with dessert. Red popsicles, of course. Everyone cheer... 4th of July!

When it got dark outside we watched the local fireworks and they were amazing! This was the kids' favorite firework – a smiley face.
Liam said, "That firework looks like exploding diarrhea." I guess I see his 5-year-old, I-love-to-talk-about-poop reference.
Afterwards we went inside and watched a 4th of July movie classic – Independence Day with Will Smith. I love that movie and was excited to share it with my kids! What a great, relaxing holiday.
How did you spend the 4th? Tell me about your fun 4th memories in the comments below.

Me and my boyfriend were seriously in love for 3 years and we were planning to get married but one day he came to my house and told me he was no longer interested in our relationship simply because he was dating another lady who promise to buy him a car and to sponsor their wedding. And i suffered a heartbreak for five months and i was not tired of loving him. One faithful day as i was browsing through the internet, i saw a testimony on how a spell caster helped a man to get back his wife after two years of losing his wife because he was no longer having a job. through this Email dr.marnish@ymail.com, i sent an email to dr.marnish contact him for help and surprisingly my boy friend came back 3 days after the help of the spell caster. and now we are happily back together. He is the most trusted, genuine and real love spell caster

the husband i used to love with all my heart divorced me i feel i was heartbroken, i cried every now and then. i tried everything but nothing came alright, luckily enough i was browsing on the internet and i saw testimony of clients who talked about dr.marnish, i thought may be its also one of the scamming spell caster, but my heart insisted on it until i contacted him i used his spell and it worked so nice, his spell made my husband to take me back as his wife, dr.marnish@yahoo.com has not only made my man to accept me back but also his spell made my husband to love me the more

dr.marnish has done wonders in my relationship! The love spells casted by dr.marnish@yahoo.com made my man who broke up with me 4 months ago to come back to me, this is unbelievable, Only 3 days after the love spell was casted, my lover said that he wants to come back together. to my surprise, he came back the next morning he was all on me kissing and rubbing on me telling me how much he missed me and how much he loves me , that he wants me back. i was happy and i gladly took him back, thanks to dr.marnish for helping me to bring my lover back

I contacted dr.marnish in regards of getting my lover back. my lover stopped talking to me. He was interested in working out his marriage with another girl, after begging and pleading with him I realized that nothing was working out, he left me. when i came across this spell caster, i read how he helped many people to get their lover back, After discussing the resolution with dr.marnish, so I ordered a reunite love spell to help me get my lover back and I also purchased a marriage spell so that we could get married too, after the spell was cast i saw result I never expected, I cant say how much I'm grateful i came across this spell caster dr.marnish@yahoo.com, My lover not only came back to me, but left his other lady and now we are engaged, we are getting married next month, I don't know what I would have done without dr.marnish, this spell caster does his job so well organized and highly functional, i believe he is the best spell caster i can count on when it comes to love spell, I was floored that both spells worked -
i and my lover had some misunderstanding 3 months ago and he left the house with no tress, there was no way i could contact him, i searched for him i could not find him, i was desperate to get him back, crying every hour became my duty, so when i told a friend what had happened, she told me she had similar problem but a spell caster helped her, so he directed me on how to contact this spell caster, she gave me this email address prophetharry@ymail.com, so i contacted prophet regarding my problem and he said he could help me, i gave him the necessary informations which he required for and after three days of his spell was casterd, my lover who left the house came back and confessed to me that he was having another affair with another girl, he fell on his knees while begging that I give him a second chance and also apologized never to cheat on me again, so we reconciled together . The scene was unbelievable, especially from him who is a such a proud man usually! thanks to prophetharry@ymail.com for giving me all I asked for, My spells seems to work in the most powerful way.

Hi Tori, Just Love your Site. Love that you are sharing your life and loves. I am so happy that you have the life that seems to be perfect for you & Dean. Love that you are living your Dream. Glad that you worked things out with your Mom and can understand How much you miss your Dad. I think that you are an amazing person. I think it's great that you show people .... that what they are living is really the same. Some may be at a larger scale then others but how it works is the same. Congrats on the coming little one. Can't wait for your next show with the family. God Bless!

I had that necklace when I was a kid!!! Completely forgotten about it, until now! That's a blast from the past. Love this update in pics, I think it is one of the best parts of your blog, those inside peeks in your personal life. You all look blooming lovely, albeit every one of the five of you in a different sense of blooming. It's nice to spent holidays in company of family, friends and food (my personal BFFF's!)
I read all the comments above and the one thing that stroke me was that the most of you suffered loads of heat! Come to live over here! It's not cold but hot weather is on the complete other end of the spectrum, we celebrate the 4th Northerh European Style next year.
#JackieC, congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

you guys make the most beautiful kids! I spent it down in my basement where there was A/C was working watching things on our apple tv! We listened to Aerials being shot off up the street in a dangerous area. There's places for aerials and in a neighborhood where the houses are on top of each other and surrounded by tall pine trees isn't it. We usually pick some up on our way down to Atlanta or Florida where it is legal to fire off and great places to do so! Just couldn't afford to this year.

Great Pictures. You guys look Like You had an All American 4th ... all the way down to the Hotdogs. Thank You for sharing.

Looks like a relaxing time! We were doing a little road trip and were in Holbrook AZ around historic Route 66...we went to Meteor Crater then took in sights from the Cars movie since it was partially inspired by that area (the Tee Pee motel a.k.a. the Cozy Cones) and it ended up raining but the town still had their fireworks which were actually pretty good for such a small town. We sat in the truck and watched them through the rain, then went back to the hotel and ended the night watching the movie CARS since we had seen so many sights throughout the day that reminded us of it :-) All in all a great 4th. BTW Hattie looks SO much like you...and I can actually see your mom in her too. What a cutie! (all your kids are) :-)

We spent the day with family and friends at a cook out! We made italian sausage and venison steaks on the grill. We swam and played ladder golf and bocce ball. Our family is a BIG game family and very competitive so we love playing games indoors and out. We listened to some great music and just had a super day! It was warm in western NY but a beautiful sunny day!

Our 4th was wacky! It was unbearably hot so we didn't lay by the pool, we stayed inside until about 3 when we went to my fiance's friend's place. We spent about an hour there (inside of course) and then went to my friend's for a BBQ. We get there and it had cooled off a little because of the impending storms. We sat outside while her husband grilled until it started to rain. Then it started to really rain. Then it started to lightning and thunder, and HAIL. How do you get hail in 100 degree weather?? So after the storm passed her husband was able to finish BBQ-ing and we ate the food in their family room. On our way home there was lightning and thunder so no fireworks, and no pool. :( But it was nice to spend time with our friends and relax at least.
Tori--I am getting married!! I met him in May and finally know what people meant when they said "you will just know." We have been inseparable since then and will be married in a very small ceremony on July 19th. :D We will then have a big party this fall or next spring for all of our family and friends to attend. He got my name tattooed on his arm and I got his tattooed on my back over the weekend. We are so in love. I will post pics soon!!

What great pictures! And great fun.
We watched fireworks in our neighborhood in about 1000 degree heat. What a heatwave we've had!
Didn't I see a picture of you online in a wheelchair with a bandaged ankle? I hope you are OK.

Looks like you all had a nice and relaxing day, I'm in the midwest and our weather is not being very nice, So NO fireworks this year :(
-
Glad you had a great time with your lovely family. My parent, my gay best friend, Ray and I went to my aunt's and Uncle's house for dinner but only stay there for a while because the weather was very unbearable HOT! We had to stay our house with A/C to keep cool.

Your day looks about how our day went! Woke up at 8am, got dressed in a rush as I forgot all about the parade at 10am! Scarfed down some red white and blue star pancakes and then off we went! Got attacked by fire ants (very allergic ouch!) and saw so many 'neato' cars in the parade. Meet a new friend which is always great! Pigged out on candy for lunch. Went to visit the grandparents, came home and went swimming. Then it was nap time. Thank you Jesus! Around 5pm we scooted over to our family get together for BBQ and fireworks that we viewed from the street. Texas City always has a very nice display every year! Then it was a quiet ride home as the kiddos were asleep. After two trips to the car to carry them in, me and the papa finally went to bed in a kidd infested bed. And it was the best 4th of July EVER!!

What great 4th of July pics:-) Tori.
I spent my day in three different citites. I first went to have some girlfirend time with my best friend, we went to TCBY for yogurt and chatted, then I drove to meet my other friend in Berkeley for a BBQ, then to Martinez to hang out at her apartment till the fireworks started, we watched Sex in the City, great for us single gals and then to Pleasant Hill for the fireworks display. The fireworks display was spectacular. I love 4th of July and the fireworks the kid in me comes out.
Have a fabulous week!
