For Valentine's Day the kids really wanted to have a family love fest dessert party! Mama of course jumped at that opportunity! Here's our party of 6 Valentine's Day party...
As any mom knows it’s very rare to get all your kids to pose together for a photo, let alone color coordinate! So I was very excited that this photo came together...
Here's our McDermott Love Fest Strawberry Cake with Fondant icing. Stella and Liam helped me bake it! This was my first time using rolled fondant and I'm now a #FondantFan. So easy and way less mess!
Here’s a close up…
We also made strawberry and red velvet cake with pink cream cheese frosting push-ups!
And these fondant and edible marker covered rice crispie treats were the biggest hit! I got the idea from my girl Erica of P.S.I Made This
Stella made this V-day craft at school. All it took was some wood, paint, nails, and yarn. Super cute craft!

Our table
Partee!!

Mini red velvet and chocolate cupcakes
We used vintage doilies to decorate our cake
Stella and Liam made these brownie cake pop bites for us all by themselves!

And our furry valentine in pink Mitzi!!
Here are some pics of Liam and Stella baking their little hearts out…

Liam baking our McDermott Love Fest Strawberry Cake

Stella loved helping out, especially because the cake was pink!

And here’s my girl sampling one of the rice crispie treats before it had been decorated…
The kids had the best time baking (and sampling) the desserts, and it was so much fun to spend this love-filled holiday together as a family.
How did you spend Valentine’s Day?
Love,
T

Hi Tori, love how you made Valentine's Day about your whole family. Often we make it about just the husband & wife..I really enjoyed all your pictures, but was wondering where can you order those push up things? My daughter is getting married and I would love to buy some of those so I may use them on her dessert table? Plz message me on Facebook or send me an email with a link to janettorney36@gmail.com thanks -

Life is so much fun at the McDermotts! I have a feeling that as the kids get older, all their friends are going to want to hang out at your home! Everything looks so well-put together and colorful. Beautiful group shot of the kids. I can't believe how big has gotten. Liam looks so handsome with that haircut! It seems like you went from a family of 4 straight to a family of 6! I'll bet you have to pinch yourself sometime because you can't believe it either! -
Awesome Valentine's Day... Tori I hope you can maybe share the red velvet cake things on Facebook please.. Love you all!!!!!!! Beautiful Family! -

Love the photos and great ideas! It's unreal how quickly your children have grown. What a beautiful family! -
Liam looks so much like Dean in that cake pan picture! And I am hoping the recipe for the Red Velvet pushup pops is on your site here somewhere? Gorgeous family! -

Beautiful, but I've used India Tree natural food dyes in the past. It's pricey, so this year I used beets for coloring. I made valentines donuts, and used pureed beets for my vanilla frosting to make a beautiful pink color. And I made heart linzer cookies which simply used raspberry jam in the middle, and powdered sugar. -

Speaking of cutie pies; you gotta love the McDermott-bunch!!! Every once in a while, when we feel we're in need of it, we have a Pudding & Pie Dinner. We bake our favourite sweet treats (loads and loads!) and leave our 5-a-day's for tommorrow. The neighbours benefit from our sugarloaded parties as well; we are always drowning in left-overs so we send the kids with plates full of goodies to treat them. -
I just love seeing the things you make Tori. Also, love seeing the little ones . You have such a beautiful family. -

LOVE your idea and table spread, looks amazing and delish! My family and I decided to do a Valentines Day Food Crawl and pick up VDay treats all over town from our favorite treat stops serving heart shaped delights!
We picked one place every day the week of Valentines Day. Our favorite treat that week was breakfast donuts from OK Country Donut our favorite hole-in-the-wall donut shop that makes the most AMAZING donuts! -
