Nothing says love and romance more than some super decadent desserts, which is why Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays to whip up some love-themed recipes and spoil my man and little ones. And if you’re like me, you’ve been scouring Pinterest to find the best of the best when it comes to V-day treats. So to make it easy on all of you busy momistas, I’ve put together a list of my 5 fave Valentine ’s Day sweets that you can make for the ones you love.
Valentine’s Jello Hearts via The Hungry Housewife

You all know about my love affair with jello molds, so when I saw this dessert I knew I had to include it in my list. Jello feels so retro to me which I love, and these sweets look as delicious as they do chic. You can find the recipe for these little cuties HERE
Red Velvet Milkshakes via Pizzazzerie
Red Velvet is definitely my favorite cupcake flavor, and the colors are perfect for V-day, so when I found this milkshake I knew it was gonna be a winner. This sounds absolutely delicious, and is something even my littlest ones would love, as well as the bigger ones and my hubby. You can find the recipe for this sweet sip HERE
2 Ingredient Strawberry Fudge via Cookies & Cups
This recipe had me at “2 ingredients”… nothing a busy mama loves more than a great recipe that’s easy to make! These little fudge hearts are SO perfect for Valentine’s Day, and I bet they taste as good as they look. Also, I think I know a certain young lady who would LOVE these… is it me or do they have Stella McDermott written all over them?! Get the quick and easy (and very pink) recipe HERE
Valentine’s Dipped Rice Crispie Treats via Cooking on the Side

These treats caught my eye because I feel like the kids would LOVE making them with me. I love a good old fashioned rice crispy treat, and the Valentine’s Day spin on these is super cute and totally kid friendly. Find out how to make these little guys HERE
Strawberry Cake in a Jar via Cupcake Lovers

I must say, I love a good dessert in a jar. I think using mini mason jars (I LOVE mason jars!!) to serve your sweets is absolutely genius, and is something that I’ve done at parties and have sent as gifts. Who wouldn’t want to eat a red velvet cupcake in a jar??!! I really like the ombre effect here… looks very Valentines and very delicious too! Find out how to make this cute cake in a jar HERE
Will you be whipping up any red and pink treats for your loves this Valentine’s Day? Share your recipes in the comments!
Love,
T

I know I've commented on this before - but whenever you can, please substitute real foods for the red dye. Believe it or not beets do not change the flavor of foods, and actually make cakes very moist! Instead of a chocolate red velvet cake, why not a vanilla red velvet cake using shredded/cooked beets for that beautiful red color. Other foods like strawberries and raspberries can be used. Be creative and google "natural food dyes." -

I'll be doing my own take of these cupcakes that I found on Pinterest for my boys classes. I'm using my own frosting colored for Valentine's day with Dark chocolate fudge cupcakes. I tried it out last night and it was the best cupcake I've made yet. http://www.glorioustreats.com/2012/01/sweet-heart-cupcakes.html
May also make some Valentine's Day cake pops since they are so popular with my kid's classes. http://www.facebook.com/jennhasacupcake -

Love the cupcakes in a jar idea, so pretty & I'm sure delicious too. Simple but cute Valentine's breakfast, heart shaped pancakes (add a little red food coloring) with strawberries & whipped cream.
