From wardrobe to decor, my love affair with vintage runs deep. While I've always collected (aka hoarded) amazing flea market and estate sale finds, I've recently discovered a new obsession: vintage flooring.
We recently installed eco-chic, reclaimed wood floors from The Vintage Wood Floor Company in our new home, and I'm so happy with how they turned out. Here's a glimpse (I'll be blogging lots more about our new home, so stay tuned):

These vintage floors have character and a history all their own, having originally been part of an old farmhouse. They have scratches, personal carvings and other flaws that create a perfectly worn-in look. A major plus if you happen to have kids, dogs, pigs, goats and chickens running around! You're not only helping the environment by using reclaimed wood, but you're also creating a vintage chic look... which will make you the envy of all decor mavens.
Have you ever considered vintage or reclaimed wood flooring in your home? Tell me what you think of my new floors in the comments below.

This is a great idea. I want to get wood floors in my house but I was worried the dogs would scratch it all up. Hopefully I can ge the hubby to agree to something like this.

The floors look amazing! I just removed carpeting from my LR to expose the hardwood underneath, only to find that about 1/3 of it is subfloor where renovations were made. What can you suggest to cover that section with- with a DIY and tiny budget in mind? There are pictures in my photo album.

Love the floors, the look of no consistency in the grain is beautiful and so natural. and with a history...great idea!

Your vintage floors are amazing. If the opportunity comes around I would definitely do this in my home. I love that the floors come with a history and the character of being a part of someone elses family.

Absolutely love the floors!! I love reclaimed wood. There is a church near us that was sold and they were selling pieces and we bought a pew. It is roughly 100 years old. They were also selling the floor but we didn't have a place to store it or install it. It looked very similar to what Tori installed.

Love the floor!!!My grandparents used to live in a farmhouse that had the real wood floors that would creak when you walked! How I love and miss those floors!! It is truly hard to find those "real" wood floors!! AMAZING!! Reminds me of my childhood!!

I love reclaimed flooring. Especially mixing old flooring with a new moderan and clean room like in your photo! It reminds us that we all leave a footprint and to treat everything well so hopefully we can hand our things down for someone else to use in the future.
The green ottoman is amazing in this room and it gives the feel of fresh and cozy all at the same time. I could read all afternoon long in this room...maybe even watch a baseball game cozied up on the couch next to the hubs.

Old Wood is absolutely stunning in anyway way it is used. My hubby and I build Furniture and some small home decor itemsfrom old century barn wood. I Love the historic feeling to it. This is one of my favorite peices he built

My husband and I just bought a 1923 house with the original wood floors still intact. They are worn and totally beat up, but with small kids and pets I would never dream of refurbishing them! There would be no point! The blemishes give it character!
