Be sure to thank your kids’ teachers — it’s Teacher Appreciation Week! Give back to the person that gives so much to our children. Have you ever wondered why we associate apples with teachers? It actually dates all the way back to the 1700s. Less fortunate families in Denmark and Sweden gave teachers baskets of apples as payment for their children’s educations.
I thought it would be fun to give a modern spin to the old-fashioned notion of “an apple for your teacher.” So here’s some fun apple DIY’s to show our teachers how much we appreciate them this week!
- Apple Pretzel Bites by Two Sisters Crafting
Food gifts are some of my favorites! What teacher wouldn’t love these apples? And you only need 3 ingredients to make them– even better! The kids will love to help make (and taste test) them.
- Apple Stamped Tote by KoKo Kids
Apple stamping is a creative twist to gifting an apple. And what teacher couldn’t use something to carry around all those papers to grade?!!
- Apple Mason Jar by Plaid
This clever apple is foolproof to make! And your teacher will be grateful for all of the sharpened pencils ready to go!
- String Art Apple by Sarah M Style
String art is a great craft for the kids — it’s relatively simple and inexpensive to do too. Teachers can display this apple art on a desk or table just like the real thing, but it will last as a keepsake for years to come.
- Apple Sachet by Willowday
This gift is scent-sational! These lavender infused sachets can sit on teacher’s desk, hang from the door, or be slipped in a drawer. Super cute and useful!+ Comment
