Do you ever envy a natural glow that some women seem to have all year?The trick could start in the kitchen. By adding a few key fruits and veggies with important vitamins and minerals, you could be glowing by the time summer rolls around. The following tips help eliminate dullness of your skin, and provide a vibrant, youthful complexion, naturally. So bring on the sundresses and shorts!

What to look for:

Beta Carotene: It is a protein that naturally warms up the color of your complexion. The body transforms beta carotene to Vitamin A which is vital for skin health. Foods rich in Beta Carotene include carrots and cantaloupe, peaches and pumpkin.

Vitamin C: This vitamin is important to the collagen formation process. Fill up on the citrus fruits and kiwi.

Vitamin E: If prone to break outs, try foods rich in Vitamin E. This includes sunflower seeds and dark leafy greens.

Healthy fats: Olive oil, nuts such as walnuts and almonds, and avocados provide healthy fats that help skin retain natural moisture.

Balance of sleep, exercise and nutrition. Nutrition is a key contributor to clear glowing skin, but add a balance of proper sleep and exercise as well. Try to sleep on your back or side to wake up with the freshest face possible. Exercise flushes toxins that could cause break outs, and keeps circulation at a high, allowing for new cells to form.

Drink up! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. In addition to sipping plenty of water, drink antioxidant filled green tea and infused water. Up the benefit of your H2O with slices of cucumber and lemon which provide additional skin benefits such as vitamin C.

What to avoid? In addition to prolonged sun exposure without SPF, cut the caffeine intake, ditch the smoking, and steer clear of refined sugars if you want the best results and greatest glow factor.

Glow Juice:

This juice is packed with the nutrients needed for healthy skin, and tastes refreshing!

Simple juice the following for this orange elixir.

– 1/2 apple

– 2 carrots

– ½ orange

– ½ cucumber

– ¼ lemon

– 1 inch fresh ginger

– ½ tsp turmeric

Apply this once a week in the summer for soft, radiant skin.

Homemade Honey Avocado Oatmeal Mask:

½ avocado

¼ cup uncooked oatmeal

1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp. honey

1 tsp. fresh lemon juice.

Mash avocado then stir in other ingredients. Apply and rinse after 10-15 minutes, or

until desired.
