Hi ediTORIal readers, it’s Jenny from Craft That Party here to share some tips on throwing the perfect outdoor art party. I had so much fun helping Allison Duda of A Joy Photography prepare for her daughter’s art themed birthday party. Alli filled the celebration with lots of DIY ideas that can easily be replicated at home.

1. Create your own gallery. Hang empty frames on a fence or wall and fill with your own beautiful works of art.

2. Create a DIY photo backdrop. Hang a white sheet from two tall ladders. Let the kids splatter the sheet with paint (washable paint mixed with water works perfectly!). Now you have a great photo backdrop for taking pictures of your guests.

3. Frame your food! Our desserts became works of art by placing frames around them. We also made paper straw easels for our signs and place cards using this tutorial from Debbie at Wants and Wishes.

4. For a pop of color, spray paint old chairs different colors.

5. Make your own “Creative Juice” by adding waterproof labels to your drinks.

Hope our DIY ideas have inspired you! Have you ever hosted an art party? We would love to know about it!
