documenTORI: Heading to the Hospital

After my pre-baby manicure it was finally time to head to the hospital to meet baby for the first time. But, before I could introduce our newest one into the family I had to say my goodbye’s to my other 3 babes. I absolutely HATE goodbye’s. So, we headed back to the hotel, grabbed our bags and headed up to the pool so I could kiss my little ones one last time with baby in my belly:

After an emotional farewell to Liam, Stella & Hattie and some words of wisdom from Nanny Patsy, Dean and I hopped in the car and headed to the hospital…

I was super nervous for the C-section, and just wanted it all to be over so I could meet my littlest one.

In the next episode of documenTORI you’ll see me in the hospital bed (in my super chic hospital gown of course), about to head in to surgery. You don’t wanna miss it!

How did you mamas feel as you headed to the hospital to have your little guys and girls? Nervous? Excited? Completely and utterly terrified? Let me know in the comments below!

Love,
T

You guys are too cute! This makes me so excited for the adventures of motherhood. Hopefully my husband and I will be as blessed as you guys. :)

I too have four sweet babies. It’s always terrifying not having complete control of how your child will enter the world but my second son was the most difficult. I was scared (b/c my husband was deployed :() but the hardest part was my mommy guilt! I felt so guilty for my first born son- his whole world was about to change. He was no longer going to be my one and only! I was scared he would be jealous and feel left out. How do you rationalize with a two year old?- you want to fast forward in his future and show him how awesome it is to have siblings!! What a gift mommy and daddy are giving you! I felt silly worrying so much when they met and loved each other immediately. They are still inseparable 5 years later!! My third son and my (surprise) sweet daughters births were easier because their older brothers knew about sibling love and were excited to share it! Therefore, it was easier on mommy and daddy! I was always nervous about the deliveries but had special deliveries from the “candy man” or what i called the anesthesiologist!! ha! (I knew i wasn’t going home with a trophy for natural birth.) I felt my epidurals made my whole birthing experience relaxed, calm and more enjoyable! Funny how all the fear, anxiety, and pain are forgotten as soon as you see their angelic faces, those scary emotions are replaced with unconditional love.

With my first, I had a planned c-section from the get go and really didn’t know what to expect. I was much more excited than nervous, however, after he was born I remember lying in the hospital bed thinking I will never do this again because I was sooo sick from the spinal for the c-section. So, just 7 months ago before our 2nd son was born, I was very nervous about the delivery and I had that common mommy feeling of guilt for my first born. I had to be at the hospital at 5am so I was able to tell Jaxon good night the night before and not bother him in the morning. I was so nervous at the hospital, wondering if I could really handle two kids, how I would feel after surgery, and all the questions about things that could go wrong. I got a lot of different nausea medications this time around and it made the experience 100% different.

I was nervous, scared, terrified, excited….all of the above with all 6 of my deliveries. I was like you as well-it was so hard to tell my other babies goodbye as I headed off to the hospital each time even though I knew they were in good hands. It is a bittersweet moment.

I was totally excited when I had my 2 boys. I knew they were going to be c-sections as I was told that in the beginning. But I didn’t care because the end result was the same, my boys!

My little one, our first, is due in July, and I’m a nervous wreck! I’m already stressing over leaving my dog, even though I know he will be well taken care of.

With my oldest son, I was scared and excited and nervous and every other feeling in the book. After 12 hours of labor and an emergency C-Section, I was overwhelmed with love. My second was a little more difficult because I knew I was having a section and had to leave my other child behind. When my third arrived 11 months after my second, my hormones were raging and I was an emotional wreck. Three healthy babies and three successful c-sections, I couldn’t imagine my life any more hectic or wonderful! LOVING LIFE

    what a couple of awesome videos T. so cool-now 4-some no? :-)

Oh T, these are touching moments, thank you so much for sharing. Don’t you well up everytime you see them?
First time I was extremely nervous (becoming a new mum and undergoing everything for the first time) and after ten hours of puffing away contractions I became rather terrified when I had to go completely unexpected into the hospital because there was no midwife available (did not want to leave the house at that point). Second time overwhelmed because of the speedy delivery (one moment I was in the playground with #1, an hour later I had a beautiful baby daughter in my hands, almost delivered her on the stairs! I was happy that this time the midwife just popped in to ask how it all went, she could start right away! So the third time I was prepared and READY! And after the first two episodes, so was my husband. Again at home, this time the midwife arrived almost at the same time as my babyboy! She asked later (tongue in cheek, I hope): I don’t know why you even bother calling me.
But one thing remains the same: no matter how they were born, every time I considered it a miracle, the arrival of a whole new person in the world and into my life!

These videos are so cute! I hate that you were so scared, but glad that everything turned out so perfect, even after the troubles you faced. I had my 3 babies at home so didn’t face the anxiety of going to the hospital. I was always nervous though when labor started. Mine were all born through the night so it was funny my older kids thought you go to sleep and when you wake up your new baby is here! :)

  • Mariana Hernandez

I was worried about my oldest son when i was having my second baby cause my babysitter kept letting him run around the hospital.
I wanted to be back with my family, but had to go through intense labor for 7 hours yuk.

  • Darren Martin

Definitely got teary eyed watching that video! Thanks for sharing all of your family’s special moments with us. Makes me miss Home Sweet Hollywood a little less than I do. #BestRealityShowEver

Leaving for the hospital is an emotional moment. I have 5 babies, from 19 down to 2, it never gets easier. I always wanted to cry too, when my big babies met our newest addition for the first time You look at your older child while holding your newborn babe, and realize how big the older ones are and how much they have grown.

I had c-sections with both of my babies….and actually had my water break at home, went into labor, and delivered early with both too. Both kids were born on Saturdays and water broke at 12:30 with one, and 1:30 with the second. They are 16 months and 2 days apart. With my daughter, my water broke and I dilated 5cm in an hour! Water broke at 12:30, she was born by 3:30. But it was all new to me, so I didn’t know what to be nervous about. With my son (also Liam!), I think I was more nervous the second time because I knew what was going to happen….however, I had back labor, so I didn’t care if they took the baby out through my ear at that point! :) And I TOTALLY get how you fear the worst with every delivery after your first because now you actually have another person who needs you in addition to the life you are about to bring into the world. Your family is beautiful.

You would think once you had had your first child you wouldn’t be nervous but it doesn’t get any less nerve racking with each child does it?
I think I was more scared the second time around because I knew what was coming!! :)
