You’re ready to retire your crib for good, but what to do with that once-so-important piece of furniture? Don’t just put stash it in the basement — repurpose it! Yes, you’ll have to be a bit crafty to pull these awesome ideas off (I’d consider hiring someone to help with a few of them), but the result is totally worth it. Not only can you feel great about a new, totally customized piece of furniture, you can also pat yourself on the back for being eco-friendly!

I love all of these ideas, but especially the desk with the glass table. I wish I still had our cribs. Great ideas!

My kiddos have been long out of their cribs, but I love to yard sale and repurpose, so I can’t wait to try some of these!! Love the craft/tool station!

We took the two side rails, with all of the spindles, and turned them into drying racks in our laundry room. We put piano hinges along the long side and screwed them to the wall. They lay down flat against the wall when not in use. To hold them up, we screwed a large hook into the end of the sides opposite the hinge, we screwed a hook into the laundry room ceiling, and then suspended a piece of chain from the hook. Simply lift the crib side up from the wall, hook the chain onto the hook on the crib and voila, laundry drying rack!

Love the Dr Seuss one! I have an old crib upstairs in a closet. Time to get crafting!

My favorites are the adult desk and the Dr Seuss wall shelf for the kids room. I wish I could do the desk with my daughters crib, but her end panels are arched and so it would be difficult to alter so that I could put a piece of glass on it. I may have to keep my brain on that one for a while to see if I can figure it out since she will be my last baby and it would be nice to keep the treasure of my 3 little Miracles. Thanks for the great ideas Tori.
