October time is pumpkin time. Halloween is my favorite DIY holiday and I love taking the kids to the pumpkin patch. It totally screams “Fall is here!”, except if you live in LA and then it screams “90 degree pumpkin sweat fest!”
This year we decided to go to an actual farm to pick our pumpkins. So, we headed to Underwood Farms in Moorpark, CA for their annual Fall Festival. Dean and I brought 3 out of 4 of our DIY clan (aka Liam, Stella, and Hattie) to the farm and we had an amazing day. Here’s our picTORIal…
Pumpkins everywhere, as well as an adorable scarecrow that I totally wanted to restyle in the perfect vintage fall kaftan!
Grab your own wheelbarrow and head in…
Liam hitched a ride
There were all different sized pumpkins for all sizes of my babes
We saw an awesome pumpkin tutorial. Who knew pumpkins came in so many sizes and colors. Stella was especially excited that there’s a light pink variety.
Then we hit the “bean box”. Think a sand box but with dried beans. Note to moms… This is genius! Provides hours of entertainment and way less mess. Dean and I are excited to build our own mini version at home. How cute are Stella and Hattie in their peasant dresses? They had so much fun!
Liam lounges in beans…
I love how Dean is beaming at his girls in this pic. A total mom “ahhhh” moment
Here’s a house of pumpkins
And a vintage tractor parade
Stella went for a pony ride
A new friend who gladly posed while lunching
Amazing painted pumpkins on display
Miss Hattie Cat picks her first pumpkin!!
And proudly shows it off to dada… “Look Dad one hand!”
Then proudly poses with her prized pumpkin
Liam hit the slide made from a tractor, not 1 but 20 times…
Sliding makes a boy hungry! We made a pit stop for some roasted corn, which is a family fave
The girls had a blast
And Liam proves he’s king of the castle… Well, the haystack!
Who needs a playground when ya got hay?
Can’t leave without kettle corn!
Bye Underwood Farms. We’ll be back in the spring and summer for berry picking!!
