Last night in the scorching heat television’s finest stepped out onto the red carpet for the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, without letting the 90° weather get in the way of looking fabulous. Yes, it was a moment to celebrate the talents of the television industry, but, of course, it’s impossible to ignore the fashion that ends up being showcased as well. For us on Team ediTORIal, playing fashion police last night was so much fun because there was quite the wide range of styles, with some people taking bold fashion risks while others veered toward the simply elegant.

Here are some of the top trends along with our favorite looks from last night:

Oranges, yellows, and chartreuses were everywhere on the red carpet. These beautiful ladies made brilliantly bright colors seem so wearable!

Julianne Moore

Ginnifer Goodwin

Understated bling is so chic and elegant. The simplicity only makes the jewelry in question more breathtaking.

Jessica Pare

Tina Fey

Asymmetrical hems are a fun but fashion-forward way to bring a carefree edginess to any outfit. Are you into this look?

January Jones

Kristen Wiig

Fitted silhouettes added a healthy dose of old movie star glamour to the red carpet. If you ask us, a woman’s curves are her sexiest accessory…

Alison Williams

Padma Lakshmi

Bow ties were very popular amongst the men last night, and they’re such an easy way to make any guy look like he’s channeling his inner Don Draper. As you know, we’ve been following this trend for quite some time now, and are absolutely thrilled to see it all over the red carpet!

Jon Hamm

Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Justin Mikita

Jimmy Fallon
